We are excited to welcome Dr. Hyke Waalewijn as a speaker for our upcoming webinar, “Get it right, make it Safe!”,  on World Patient Safety Day,
17 September 2024 @ 16h00 SAST. Dr. Waalewijn is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cape Town and an emerging leader in paediatric pharmacology. His work is transforming the way we approach children’s healthcare, making treatments safer and more effective.

Dr. Waalewijn earned his PhD in Pediatric Pharmacology of Antiretrovirals at Radboud University Medical Center in the Netherlands in 2022. Since then, he has dedicated his career to improving healthcare outcomes for children worldwide. His contributions to WHO projects have been instrumental in simplifying treatments and enhancing healthcare delivery for young patients. Additionally, Dr. Waalewijn plays a key role in shaping the European AIDS Clinical Society’s paediatric HIV treatment guidelines, ensuring that children receive the highest standard of care.
