Dr. Caryn Upton

Dr. Caryn Upton is a medical professional trained at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, with experience in the treatment and management of drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB). In 2017, Dr. Upton joined TASK Applied Science, engaging in wide-ranging clinical trials across diverse patient populations. She currently serves as the principal investigator on a number of trials primarily targeting novel regimens and treatment shortening for TB. She has a particular interest in TB meningitis and as a PhD candidate at Radboud University, she’s investigating the penetration of established and novel TB drugs in the cerebrospinal fluid. Her work continues to leverage her ground-level experience, academic knowledge, and commitment to improving patient care.
