Karen Cloete founded TASK Research Academy in 2021 to create accessible career pathways in clinical research.

With 15 years of experience in quality assurance, study management, and protocol development, Karen is a recognised leader in GCP compliance and an international speaker who loves inspiring others.

TASK Research Academy combines her passion for research and her creative background as an Occupational Therapist to deliver immersive, innovative learning experiences.

Outside of work, Karen’s green thumb shines in her love for gardening—a constant reminder of her belief in growth and new beginnings—and she’ll happily share stories of her “classroom days,” teaching her childhood soft toys.

Gareth McAlister is an Academy Learning Designer with a passion for data literacy, gamification, and storytelling to enhance education.

Holding a master’s in Anthropology, Gareth brings a unique interdisciplinary approach to creating impactful, learner-centred experiences.
